About the Project
This extensive project proved demanding and rewarding in all aspects. A 16-page zine was created about part of my experience during the Covid-19 outbreak. Amidst the unsurety and preventative measures, my quarantine experience was supported by a venture into leatherwork. Through layout and book design techniques, this zine showcases the items and education collected during the pandemic.

Through the Process
The list of requirements was long for this project and would be the culmination in what we had learned through the Associates degree program in Graphic Design. Photo editing, InDesign book set up, word arrangement and typographic art were featured throughout the design. Binding choice was a significant aspect in the setup and allowed for an interesting insert within the zine. With a waxed cord saddle stitch, I included leather samples stitched into the center spread, perfect for an in-depth look at the materials and tools involved in leather craft.
The zine became an example of the subject itself with its tooled leather cover. It was important for the story of projects to flow in chronological order, while showing the necessary items in an engaging way. The success was evident, as the book has held the attention of many a reader since its making.
