About the Project
The Stromfeld fashion show sought a post card to advertise their event date. Fictional as it was, it was a great way to dabble into advertising and create an eye-catching and alluring piece to draw in customers.
The post card was limited to gray scale only, and required a hand-drawn photo indicator for the main image. The words “Wow!,” “Sizzle!,” and “Dazzle!” needed to be included within the design, along with the logo and event information on the back of the item. I decided to follow a Gothic theme for the project and brainstormed poses depicting showstopping moments. Dozens of thumbnails were created to find the best concept, and I was able to create an image showcasing the movement of a fashion show runway. The design then followed a process of refinement until the final concept was created. An internal frame was placed behind the figure to give her the appearance of walking off the page. This design turned out strong enough to be listed as a favorite among the others.
